1. Bogibeel Bridge

This is an under construction bridge over the river Brahmaputra in the Dibrugarh area of Assam in north-east India. This railroad bridge will be the India’s longest rail-cum-road bridge with a total length of 5.95 kilometers. It will enhance the connectivity in between Arunachal Pradesh and Assam and will help in the regional tourism commerce and trade. Bogibeel Bridge already has been delayed for quite years and is now expected to be complete by the end of year 2015.

2. Ganga rail – road Bridge

The Ganga Bridge is a new under Construction Bridge across the waters of holy river Ganges in Bihar. The Ganga Rail-Road Bridge is said to be the second longest bridge in the country having a length of 3.50 kilometers. The bridge will connect Digha, Patna to Pahleja Ghat in Sonepur and offer a better communication in between the two parts of Bihar. Ganges has three prime bridges in Bihar and this will be the fourth one across it and also the longest rail-road bridge of the state. The bridge is expected to be completed in 2015.

3. Godavari Bridge

The long Godavari Bridge is a pier bridge over the Godavari River at Rajahmundry in Andhra Pradesh. Godavari Bridge also is known by the name of Kovvur-Rajahmundry Bridge and it is Asia’s second longest road-cum-rail bridge on water. This 2.7 kilometer long bridge has become a landmark of Rajahmundry. It is the second of three total bridges over the River Godavari at Rajahmundry.

4. Farakka barrage

The unique and famous dam in India – the Farakka Barrage is constructed across the river Ganges in Bengal. Farakka Barrage is a bridge for both rail as well as road, Farakka. It is 2.25 kilometers long rail Road Bridge which connects North Bengal to other North-Eastern States of India.

5. Rajendra setu

This is the first rail-cum-road bridge on the Ganga River which connects both parts of Bihar. The bridge is also known by the name of Mokama Bridge since it is located near Mokama area in Bihar’s capital, Patna. Stretching over 2.0 kilometers, this long bridge has a double line railway track with a two lane road. Also, a four lane road bridge is planned near it for the National highway NH 31.
